9.B.350.  The Pseudorabies Virus Protein UL56 (UL56) Family 

The pseudorabies virus (PRV) protein UL56 (pUL56) has been implicated in viral dissemination and virulence in vivo. Lyu and Cai 2019 showed that it is localized to the Golgi and trans-Golgi network (TGN) via its C-terminal leucine-rich TMS. A Golgi-associated protein Rab6a, independent of interaction with pUL56, was downregulated by pUL56. Several leucine and proline residues proved to be essential for maintaining perinuclear accumulation. Thus, the leucine-rich transmembrane helix is responsible for pUL56 Golgi-TGN localization and retention, probably due to specific intracellular membrane insertion (Lyu and Cai 2019).
