Exosome-mediated transport of IFITM2 to dendridic cells inhibits IFNalpha (IFNα) pathway activation and blocks anti-hepatitis B virus (HBV) efficacy of exogenous IFNalpha (Shi et al. 2019). IFITMs are members of the dispanin/CD225 family that act as broad viral inhibitors by preventing viral-to-cellular membrane fusion (Zhong et al. 2022).
