1.C.102 The Cerein (Cerein) Family

The members of the cerein family have about 70-120 aas with 2 TMSs and can be derived from Gram-positive firmicutes as well as members of the Bacteroidetes. They are among the class II sec-independent bacteriocins (Oscáriz et al., 2006).



This family belongs to the Bacterial Bacteriocin (BB) Superfamily.
