1.D.41 The Sprotetonate-type Ionophore (Spirohexanolide) Family

Spirohexanolide A (1a) and B (1b) comprise a family of spirotetonate products that have ionophoric activities, presumably functioning like nisin.  They are produced by Streptomyces plantensis (Jones et al. 2010).
