9.B.239. The Uncharacterized Bacterial 10 - 13 TMS Protein (UBP2) Family

This family consists of proteins that vary in size and topology (10 - 13 TMSs) and may be distantly related to the family with TC# 9.B.142, a family of glycosyl transferases, but this is not established. NCBI BLAST searches bring up many homologues in both cultered and uncultured bacteria. It contains no recognizable Pfam domains.

This family belongs to the Glycosyl/Acyl Transferase (GAT) Superfamily.
