The TMEM88 (TMEM88) Family
The TMEM88 family consists of small proteins of about 150 aas and 2 centrally located TMSs. The dishevelled (Dvl/Dsh) protein is one of the key components in Wnt signaling
and plays essential roles in regulating these pathways through
protein-protein interactions. TMEM88 binds to the Dishevelled (Dvl/Dsh) protein, one of key components in Wnt signaling that plays essential roles in regulating these pathways through
protein-protein interactions (Lee et al. 2010). TMEM88 attenuates the Wnt/β-catenin signaling induced by Wnt-1 ligands, and miRNA-708 acts as an oncogene contributing to tumor growth and disease progression by directly downregulating TMEM88 (Jang et al. 2012). TMEM88 also promotes triple-negative breast vancer by interacting With Dvl (Yu et al. 2015). TMEM88 mediates inflammatory cytokines secretion (Xu et al. 2018; Li et al. 2020).
