3.A.7.1.1 Conjugal DNA-protein transfer complexes. The VirB4 ATPase may mediate dislocation of the membrane-integrated VirB2 pilin (N- and C-termini out; cytoplasmic loop= residues 90-94 inside) during biogenesis of the Agrobacterium VirB/VirD4 type IV secretion system. VirB6 domains direct the ordered export of the DNA substrate through a type IV secretion System (Jakubowski et al. 2004).
