Proton-translocating NADH dehydrogenase I.  NDUFS4 is an accessory subunit of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I), that is believed not to be involved in catalysis.  However, a knockout of NDUFS4 in human iPSCs provides a model for mitochondrial complex I deficiencyin humans (Goolab et al. 2025).
