3.A.1.26.12 Chloroplast heavy metal ion uptake porter with at least two components, ABCI10, 271 aas (C) and ABCI12, 391 aas (M), present in the inner chloroplast envelope. Loss of ABCI10 and ABCI11 gene products in Arabidopsis leads to dwarfed, albino plants showing impaired chloroplast biogenesis and deregulated metal homeostasis. The membrane-intrinsic protein ABCI12 may be the interaction partner for ABCI10. Thus, ABCI12 may insert into the chloroplast inner envelope membrane with five or six predicted TMSs (Voith von Voithenberg et al. 2019).
