This requires TPRA1-mediated Ca2+ influx and activation of protein kinase C. Human TRPA1 (TC# 1.A.4.6.3) can functionally substitute for worm TRPA-1 in promoting longevity (Xiao et al. 2013). Also mediates touch sensation.
