Transports beta lactams with decreased efficiency in the order of ertapenem > cefepime > cefoxitin (Tran et al. 2010). 93% identical in sequence to 1.B.1.1.11. Voltage-gating of this porin and porin 2 (TC# 1.B.1.1.24) from the same organism have been analyzed (Song et al. 2015). Facing channels are open in any two adjacent porin structures, suggesting that dimers and trimers not only promote cell-to-cell contact but also contribute to intercellular communication (El-Khatib et al. 2018).
