Peripheral myelin protein 22, PMP22 of 160 aas and 4 TMSs. May be involved in growth regulation and myelinization in the peripheral nervous system (Magyar et al. 1997). PMP22 associates with MPZ via their transmembrane domains, and disrupting this interaction causes a loss-of-function phenotype similar to hereditary neuropathy associated with liability to pressure palsies(Pashkova et al. 2023).
