Leucine-rich
repeat transmembrane protein, FLRT3, of 649 aas and 2 TMSs near the N-
and C-termini of the protein. The protein mediates cell-cell contacts
that promote an increase both in neurite number and in neurite length.
It also plays a role in the regulation of the density of glutamaergic
synapses (Lu et al. 2015). Variants can give rise to high myopia, an eye disorder (Swierkowska et al. 2021).
