9.B.353. The Uncharacterized Bacterial/Archaeal 11 TMS Protein (UBAP) Family
The majority of the members of this family have about 400 - 700 aas, an N-terminal TMS followed by a hydrophilic region of variable length, followed by about 10 variably spaced TMSs, often in a 2 + 2 + 2 + 2, etc. arrangement. The functions of these proteins are not known. They may be distantly related to the DMT superfamily (TC# 2.A.7.3).
