1.B.66 The Putative Beta-Barrel Porin-2 (BBP2) Family The BBP2 family is a large family of Gram-negative bacterial proteins with a single N-terminal TMS, probably a signal peptide, and predicted to consist of beta-barrels using the BOMP program. These proteins are members of the DUF1597 family and are derived from several Gram-negative bacterial phyla. Several are annotated as 'putative porin' or 'outer membrane protein'. None seems to have been characterized. These proteins belong to the large superfamily of beta barrel porins.
This family belongs to the Outer Membrane Pore-forming Protein I (OMPP-I) Superfamily .
