1.B.67 The Putative Beta Barrel Porin-4 (BBP4) Family
The BBP4 family consists of proteins retrieved with a single BLAST search with a single iteration using query protein 1.B.67.1.1. These proteins show similarity with many proteins in TC subclass 1.B. In fact, this family is a member of the large beta barrel porin superfamily. Most of them have N-terminal leader sequences that probably target them to the Sec translocon for export across the cytoplasmic membrane. There seems to be no functionally characterized member of this family as of 8/2013.
