1.B.81 The DUF2490 Putative Beta Barrel Porin (DUF2490) Family
The DUF2490 family consists of Gram negative bacterial proteins, mostly from Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes, of about 210 to 280 aas and usually 10 - 12 putative beta strands in a probable beta-barrel as predicted with PRED-TMBB. These proteins show sequence similarity to members of 1.B.35.2 and therefore probably belong to Porin Superfamily I. On this basis, they are assumed to be porins even though there is no direct experimental evidence to prove it.
