9.B.163 The Putative Beta Barrel Porin-7 (BBP7) Family
The BBP7 family was identified as a probable outer membrane porin using the BOMP program which predicted several proteins in Planctomycetes to be porins. Homologues exist largely within the Planctomycetes, but some have been found in the Chlamydiae and the proteobacteria. They seem to be most widespread in the Planctomycetes. These homologues seem to possess domains that are rich in glycine, alanine and proline residues. TC Blast searches bring up other glycine-rich or alanine/proline-rich proteins that are probably not homologous.
Putative porin of 669 aas and 19 predicted β-strands with a C-terminal partial DUF1551 domain, identified with the BOMP program. It shows weak similarity to TC# 1.B.4.2.3, 1.B.55.1.2 and 9.B.133.1.1.
