9.B.170 The DUF3187 Putative Porin (DUF3187) Family

The DUF3187 family consists of proteins mostly from Proteobacteria but also from other bacteria.  They are about 260 - 350 aas and usually have 10 - 14 putative β-strands. They show sequence similarity with members of the Outer Membrane Pore-forming Protein (OMPP-I) Superfamily I, they may be homologous only to the OmpA peptidoglycan-binding domain, and not in the putative porin domain.

This family belongs to the Outer Membrane Pore-forming Protein I (OMPP-I) Superfamily .
