9.C.5 The Endoplasmic Reticulum/Golgi ATP/ADP or AMP Antiport Transporters (ATP-T) Family

Eukaryotes possess intracellular ATP carriers that allow ATP-dependent protein folding and degradation in the lumen of the ER and golgi appartatus. ATP is transported with micromolar affinity in exchange for ADP or AMP.
