9.A.14.13.43
Hydroxycarboxylic acid receptor 3, HCAR3, of 387 aas and 7 TMSs. It is a receptor for 3-OH-octanoid acid and mediates a negative feedback regulation of adipocyte lipolysis to counteract prolipolytic influences under conditions of physiological or pathological increases in beta-oxidation rates. It acts as a low affinity receptor for nicotinic acid, but this pharmacological effect requires nicotinic acid doses that are much higher than those provided by a normal diet (Wise et al. 2003; Ahmed et al. 2009). GPR109A interacts with hippuric acid (Bhandari et al. 2022).
