9.A.14.13.49
Ovarian cancer G-protein coupled receptor, OGR1 or GPR68 of 465 aas and 7 TMSs.  Proton-sensing receptor involved in pH homeostasis. It may represent an osteoblastic pH sensor regulating cell-mediated responses to acidosis in bone. It also mediates its action by association with G proteins that stimulate inositol phosphate (IP) production or Ca2+ mobilization. The receptor is almost silent at pH 7.8 but fully activated at pH 6.8, and it also functions as a metastasis suppressor gene in prostate cancer (Ludwig et al. 2003).  Functional expression of the proton sensors ASIC1a, TMEM206, and OGR1 together with BKCa channels is associated with cell volume changes and cell death (Pissas et al. 2024).
