BST4 pyrenoid protein in algae of 319 aas with one N-terminal TMS + three more moderately hydrophobic peaks, all about equidistant from each other.  Bestrophin-like protein 4 is involved in photosynthetic acclimation to light fluctuations in Chlamydomonas  (Adler et al. 2024).  It plays a role in the concentration of CO2 in the pyrenoid of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii (Adler et al. 2023).  It may be an is an ion channel involved in lumenal pH regulation, possibly by mediating bicarbonate transport across the pyrenoid tubules.
