9.B.359.  The Large Uncharacterized Protein (LUP9) Family

The proteins of the LUP9 family consist of bacterial proteins with about 700 aas and 7 (or sometimes 9 or 5 TMS), usually N-terminal with a C-terminal hydrophilic domain.  They may be related to glycosyl transferases of families 9.B.142 and/or to members of the ABC membrane protein exporter superfamilies (e.g., 3.A.1.132.13 and 3.A.1.145.1). The hydrophilic domains may be related to peptidases or glycosyl transferases.
